For those of you with USA Swim Teams what do you do about people on vacation that want to practice with your team?  We have a family asking to join our practices with three children for at least 3 practices while on vacation. They are USA Swimming members but they expect to practice with our team at no charge.  Is this common?  I couldn't find anything on the USA Swimming site.  We also have open swim in another pool so it is not like the team is the only thing in our facility.  Our reception desk checks everyone in.  Any feedback would be appreciated!

To my knowledge, there's no "mandate" from USA Swimming on visiting swimmers.   With that being said, it's tradition (in some circles at least) that visiting swimmers be allowed to practice for a couple of sessions at no charge.

We allow all traveling swimmers to practice with us provided they are current USA swimming members, We simply charge the drop-in lap swim fee and let them join the practice.

Is  the pool so full that you don't have room for USAS regisered non-member swimmers? It is a tradtion of goodwill and the brotherhood of swimming to let people swim a few practices when visiting, that said it is really up to your policies which it sounds like you are working on developing.
