ORP and Oxidation

Oxidation/reduction potential… We’ve all heard the term, but what does it really mean? We’ll see that it is, essentially, a relative measure of the desired “work value” of our pool sanitizer  and a pretty darn’ good one at that. But first, let’s dissect the term itself. Just wanted to post a quick flash back to the AI Feb '13 Influential People Issue and Kent Williams' profile (http://www.aquaticsintl.com/leadership/kent-williams.aspx) in case it slipped by you. His contributions to our industry over the years are well deserving of this recognition and an inspiration to Operators that should not be over looked! Here's more on Kent's accomplished background; http://www.theaquapedia.com/index.php?title=Kent_Williams.

Kudos to our most distinguished leader!

Hey there y'all!

Wanted to extend a belated Welcome to all of those who recently joined the PPOA on AIConnect. Thank you!

I had a conversation last week with a college natatorium director about ORP and its relationship to the sanitation of pool water. It reminded me of a very informative article by Matthew Griffith published in AI recently titled Quality Control . I thought that I would share it here because it rings true with Kent's writings on the subject and provides critical understanding of the concept. Please pass it on to operators in your respective spheres of influence. http://www.aquaticsintl.com/2012/jan/1201_tech.html

Enjoy your Fall or Spring seasons friends!
