Colorado Chapter of the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA).

The Colorado Drowning Prevention Taskforce's mission is to reduce drowning deaths and near drowning incidents in Colorado through education, research, outreach and opportunity. We will do this by sharing resources, expertise and support.

General Information:
Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death among Colorado children ages 14 and under, with only motor vehicle crashes causing more fatalities. There were 36 Drowning Deaths in Colorado last year. 32 of them were in open waters such as lakes, ponds, rivers and ditches.

We are in need of more help. We are looking for, Fire Departments, Hospitals, Swim Schools, Community Advocates and anyone else who is concerned about water safety. Drowning is Preventable, but it takes a united effort.
