Hi Kennette -

Sorry it has taken so long for me to reply, this social networking piece is new to me and I forgot to check here for questions or comments!

The NDPA has active committees that address various aspects of drowning prevention, such as Education, Policy & Codes, Research & Data, and JADES (family support). Each committee is working on specific projects and goals and welcome new members to the committees.

The NDPA also holds an annual conference, the National Drowning Prevention Symposium, which brings the messages from our national and international leaders to a single forum. Topics include residential pools & spas, open water, research, educational programming, policy & code, and more. The NDPA Core Beliefs Statement found on our website will shine more light on really what the NDPA believes in - the muti-faceted approach to drowning prevention including Layers of Protection.

Hope that helps some!

~Kristin

Florida is a hot spot. Too many pools and many people do not have access to lenghtly swim lessons to continue the process of learning.
