Hi all!  Hope everything is going well at the rock, miss it there.  I'm in my second year of teaching and Greater Latrobe High School and this year I took over the lifeguarding classes; I'm teaching 3 sections of it.  It's a totally different atmosphere when high school students actually want to be in class and are eager to learn--definitely a nice change of pace in my day.  :)  I've been browsing around to see if I could find any of the video's Mr. Ogoreuc showed during his aquatic classes about drownings, diving in shallow water, etc.   If anyone knows where to find some good ones feel free to share :)  I've exhausted my youtube searches and tried googling numerous terms but I can't find any that look familiar.. some are decent, but not as good as I remember seeing.  My email is jordan.zeunges@glsd.us.  Thanks!

Good to hear things are well on your end! Congrats on EMR certification. Great way to expand your experience as a lifeguard and first responder. Good luck in the lifeguard races! I just got back from the Jersey Shore and hope to head north to Lake Erie soon. Tell Bob North I said hello and hope to see you soon. Be safe and enjoy the summer!

Hello Everyone!

I have been quite busy this summer at Presque Isle State Park. I am in my second season of lifeguarding and recently completed my Emergency Medical Response Training last month. As a responder I am expected to respond to any incident or medical emergency on the park as needed. I also have been trained to respond from our ATV which is a nice switch from sitting on the beach all day. It really is a great job and I always have Lifeguard Olympics to look forward to every Saturday morning. We just recently did a run swim run relay event in which I ran the last leg and got second place for my zone.

Other than that I really need to start job hunting. I don't want to be stuck with nothing to do. It has been difficult to find a job. Companies will say that it is an entry position, yet in the requirements they want at least 3 years of experience, which kind of negates what they said in the first place.

I hope all is well with every else! Bob come visit PI ASAP!

Good to hear all is well! Can't wait for the arrival of the twins. Get some rest while you can. The SRU aquatic family grows.

Summer for me means crazy busy with camps, lifeguard classes and mass hiring, and tons of swim lessons. Along with preparing for the birth of our twins towards the end of the summer.

Way to go Adam Katchmarchi for making Slippery Rock Aquatics proud!
