First I want to thank all of you for joining AI Connect. In a little more than a year, you've made this a thriving community — one where aquatics professionals can get ideas, insights and inspiration from each other. I'm proud to be a part of industry that boasts such passionate professionals.
We formed AI Connect to give all of you a way to connect with each other outside of the traditional conferences and trade shows many of you can longer afford to attend. As such I believe it's become a valuable addition to the industry.
However, some members have begun using the site as a promotional area for their products, services and offerings. This is not the proper use of AI Connect, as clearly outlined in our Community Guidelines, which I reprint here:

Guidelines

AI Connect is only as strong as its membership, so we hope that you will consider the site your place to share ideas, post items and stay in touch with your peers. While you move about our site, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

Join the conversation. When adding comments, stay on topic, be concise and don’t misrepresent yourself. Start a new thread if the current topic doesn’t fit your needs.

Keep it clean. Be sure that your postings, photos and videos do not contain offensive language or scenes.

Be civil. Differences of opinion are bound to happen from time to time. Treat others on the site with respect.

Avoid sales pitches. Blatant advertisements, promotions or job requests are not permitted on the site, except in designated areas. Please contact gcarr@hanleywood.com to advertise. All other sales-related content will be removed.

Offer suggestions. Let us know if you think something is missing from the site. Also, please report any content that may violate our standards to gthill@hanleywood.com.
The guidelines were formed to protect you and I encourage all of you to review them. If you have any questions about whether something abides by the guidelines, I"ll be happy to answer them. There are some gray areas. But in general, if it's blatant promotion, it probably doesn't belong on this site. That said, you're welcome to announce your events and happenings in our Events section.
So please see this blog post as a gentle reminder that we do have community guidelines and they will be enforced. I also welcome you to let me know if you see any violations. After all, this is your site, and it's your community.
