Does anyone allow or not allow people to walk in their lap lanes.....We have a lazy river area where many people like to walk, although some people like to walk in slightly deeper water.  Do you have lanes that are designated walking lanes at various times or do you not allow this at all.  Since no one really "circle" swims anymore what is the difference in someone  walking in the lane next to someone, versus swimming in the lane next to some one.  I would love to hear your comments and how you have handled this situation.........

We designate a lane for walking, even though we have a current channel as well.  We do this because of individuals with disabilities who cannot fight the current, and for those who are improving their health incrementally by following a program of increasing distances and thus want to measure their distance by laps/lengths.

As a result, we do often get the comment "they're swim lanes, they're supposed to swim in them," to which we reply "they're lap-lanes, it's the users choice on how to complete said laps."
